This home tells a story.
Long ago, Gig Harbor was discovered as a gorgeous protected harbor. A fishing village emerged. Naturally a street of commerce serviced the busy community.
This beautiful home is nestled just up the hill, on a patch of farmland once known as Old Holly Tree Farm, which offered great views of the ongoings below.
The homeowners wanted to create a home that brings together these two elements of the harbor's early history.
We proposed a narrative combining Nautical history with the Farming communities that support the region. Today, the owners celebrate a mixture of Nautical and Farm details such as wood interior siding and post and beam farm wood sourced from old local farm houses.
On the property a treeline marks the previous owner's family history. We have decided to preserve this charming detail. Preserved, too, are the huge boulders that punctuate the living landscape. We built them into the rock retaining walls.
We added a modern art collection to round out the old school charm. The result is a warm and happy family home.
